About Sabine

Sabine Geerdes has brought designs to life since her initial training in The Netherlands and her subsequent work in Ireland, South Africa, and Australia. Throughout her career, Sabine has developed a reputation for high quality, striking design with a European influence.

Specialising in valuations, commissions and bridal jewellery, Sabine made the decision early in her career to only work with precious metals and ethically sourced diamonds and precious stones. With sustainability in mind, Sabine will also use recycled gold and silver where possible, which does not compromise quality, structure or design.

No two pieces are the same. Using natural materials to combine function, colour and movement, Sabine’s pieces are imbued with a timeless quality which only comes with years of experience. It is not just the elegant beauty of her creations that inspire, but the rich tradition of jewellery making that Sabine has inherited.

“I have always been fascinated and influenced by jewellery over the centuries including the materials and tools people used, the meaning of the jewellery to the individual, who wore what and why, and the traditions that have lasted into modern jewellery.”

A keen collector of vintage and antique jewellery, Sabine says she is fascinated by the story behind each piece.

“Antique jewellery is quite unique and individual, the jewellery often has a meaning and function and as such tells a story about that particular time in history,” she said.

Sabine now divides her time between Mudgee and Newcastle. The organic farm in Mudgee is a source of quiet inspiration for Sabine. The farm is dotted with sculptures and the buildings adorned with artwork by Sabine’s husband, Nigel White.

With years of extensive experience Sabine is taking a new direction to pass on what she knows. In a series of new workshops, she helps people craft a symbol of their commitment or friendship in wedding ring and silversmith workshops.
